Images on the Internet

bulletEstes Park, Colorado, May 15, 1996:

On Wednesday, May 15, 1996 EPICUG will meet in the Hondius Room of the Estes Park Library at 7:00 P.M. Mike Molloy, an Estes Park resident and small business owner, will present information about graphics and how to create them for use on the World Wide Web.

Topics covered will include:

- What graphics are

- Type of graphics files (including pros and cons)

- How to "acquire" graphics & photos (scanners, video capture, PhotoCD, etc.)

- Graphics tools (application programs to create or edit images; hardware required)

- Basic steps in creating and polishing an image or photo

- Other info resources and places on the web to learn more about graphics

Mike's presentation will be delivered via his web page so you can refer back to it later. The page is currently "under construction" and he says that beginning on Sat, 5/11, you can watch it develop prior to the actual presentation. If you have any particular topics you'd like Mike to address, please email him at mmolloy@rmi.net anytime before Wednesday's meeting. Mike's home page URL is: http://rainbow.rmi.net/~mmolloy/

His page already includes many graphics and photos he's developed, largely because he simply enjoys doing it. Mike Molloy and his wife Bobbea are the owners of SelectVideo Publishing, a Denver-based distributor of special-interest & educational video programs to U.S. public libraries, schools, and colleges. Mike is a self-taught "graphic designer" and uses advanced desktop publishing and graphics tools to create 4-color product catalogs, business cards, and post-cards for their business. Mike has worked with computers since 1972, and has been an Internet and Compuserve user since 1985.
