Estes Park, Colorado, February 20, 1996: On Tuesday, February 27, 1996 EPICUG will arrive in the Hondius Room of the Estes Park Library at 7:00 P.M.

	Lee Lasson, creator of Estes Park On-Line will present the first program.
	EPICUG is open to all with an interest in computers and the Internet.

What is EPICUG?

Estes Park Internet Computer Users Group (EPICUG). Formerly it was called Estes Park Computer Users Group (EPCUG). With the coming of age of the Internet and the World Wide Web, the 10 year old Computer Users Group embraces the new cross platform technologies of the Internet which provides the impetus for the re-birth of the group as the Estes Park Internet Computer Users Group (EPICUG).

	The Internet and the World Wide Web open new opportunities to Estes Park businesses never before possible.
	The Internet is the new media for entertainment and information for Estes Park residents.
	17% (37 million) of total persons aged 16 and above in the US and Canada have used the Internet. Approximately 8% (18 million) of total persons aged 16 and above in the US and Canada have used the World Wide Web in the past three months. Internet users average 5 hours and 28 minutes per week on the Internet. Total Internet usage in the US and Canada is equivalent to the total playback of rented video tapes. 	The Internet provides new challenges to computer users. The techniques and tools are very similar if you use a Mac, Windows or UNIX.
	The group will focus on using your computer to navigate the Internet.
	Additional topics to be covered in the regular monthly meetings include: Getting your business on the World Wide Web Internet Service Providers What's New on the Web How to create Web pages Protocols: TCP/IP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, HTML and what they mean to you. Security on the Internet How to create Graphics for the Web How to promote your web site How to connect using a Mac, Windows, or Windows95
	The first presentation will be by Lee Lasson, creator of Estes Park On-Line. Lee will show how to connect to the Internet using Windows95 on his new lightning fast 166 Mhz Pentium. Lee will demonstrate how to use Netscape's Navigator and Microsoft's Internet Explorer to access Estes Park On-Line web sites. Come and see the sizzle of the Web and get your first look at Virtual Reality (VRML) on the Web, Java, Shockwave, and how to use Frames.
	EPICUG meetings are free and open to all with an interest in computers and the Internet. Bring your questions as there is always ample time for Q&A. This is an excellent time to join the group's first meeting as everything is new. Start learning with EPICUG where users help users.
